The public is invited to provide general comments/feedback to the Board (by clicking on "Please Respond" below) regarding the budget process and/or any item connected to the budget, and/or to answer the following question:

 

If the Board were able to add items to the budget, what priority items would you identify for either a specific school or site, or for the District as a whole?

 2017-18 Budget - Public Feedback process

 

Every Parent Advisory Committee and school Principal will be contacted and asked to engage in the following exercise (see letter, attached):

  • The Principal and PAC chair are asked to create a long list of 10-12 items that the school would identify as priority items that need addressing, if the Board had the opportunity to “give back” as the result of a budget situation that didn’t require cuts and reductions.
  • The Principal and PAC chair are then asked to send the priority items out to all parents of their school as a Doodle poll, where parents will rank the items, and perhaps suggest other items for consideration.
  • The Principal and PAC chair are then asked to gather the results/data from their poll and send that to the

 

The public presentation of the 2017-18 budget will take place at 6:30 pm on April 12, 2017, in the gym at KCLC in Trail. Feedback will be collected by those in attendance at the meeting.

 

All documents related to the budget process will be accessible to the public on the District's website (www.sd20.bc.ca). A direct email link will be provided on the website for the public to either provide general feedback to the Board regarding its process and/or any item connected to the budget, or to respond to the following question that will be posted there: If the Board were able to add items to the budget, what priority items would you identify for either a specific school or site, or for the District as a whole?
